SHOWER, SWIPE, GO
If you can, step into the shower and wash your
body with a cooling, antibacterial body soap that
is infused with tea tree. Avoid any grainy scrubs,
as these can aggravate a breakout. Sweat followed
by a hot shower can strip moisture from the skin.
Restore it with a fast-drying body oil, which will
help nourish the skin better than a water-based
cream. If showering isn’t an option, keep a packet
of fragranced cleansing wipes on hand. This no-
shower shower instantly freshens and deodorises.
Don’t forget your feet and underarms!

HAIR RESCUE

After your workout, brush your hair and work some
dry shampoo into the roots and back. Then blast
it with your hair dryer, using the coolest setting to
evaporate dampness. If possible, use a hair band whil
you work out to prevent flyaways and prevent your
strands from absorbing too much moisture. To style,
spritz on some texturising spray to restore volume
and work in with your fingers. If you want an easy ’do
pull your locks into a low ponytail or messy bun. As
for your eyebrows, groom them with a spoolie brush
loaded with clear brow gel.

REFRESH
Don’t wipe away excess sweat with
your hands – bacteria and grease can
transfer, clogging pores and causing
breakouts. If you need to wipe your
face, use a clean towel instead. When
you’re done with your workout,
clear the sebum build-up with a
gentle, pore-minimising, foaming
cleanser, paying special attention to
your hairline. It’s important to wash
your face immediately after training
to avoid sweat pimples, those tiny
annoying bumps that occur when we
cool down rapidly and our pores close
before we’ve cleansed away sweat. If
you want to go the extra mile, apply
a blackhead-blasting mask. Keep it
on while drying your hair. If cardio
leaves you with a reactive redness
that’s hard to dispel, calm the skin
with a spritz of rosewater.

BASE INSTINCT
Let your body cool before applying
your make-up. Eschew thick and
oily foundations in favour of a non-
comedogenic mattifying tinted moisturiser
or BB cream. The latter has active
ingredients designed to smooth away
blemishes, moisturise skin, deliver UV
protection and leave you with a natural
glow. Hide any blemishes with a mineral-

based concealer – use one with green
undertones, designed to counteract the
redness – and pressed powder.
