he vision of waking up and seeing
cottonwool scattered all across the
floor of my childhood bedroom is a
memory I hold exceptionally close to my
heart. The thought that The Easter Bunny
had been in the same room as me gave
me an immense feeling of joy and pride,
with the pure excitement of knowing that I
would have an Easter basket filled with eggs
and chocolate treats to devour for the next
week’s breakfast, lunch and dinner. There
are some things in life that are created just
for fun, and so this issue is dedicated to
the family as the recipes + fun issue.
As a closet chocoholic, I couldn’t resist our
“makeover” recipe, Chocolate Cupcakes
with Jaffa Icing (p61). Yes, it’s true – you can
eat chocolate cake without the guilt trip!
Swinging from one sweet fix to the next,
the brownie feature (p24) scored massive
satisfaction points around recipes +
headquarters when the team was in need
of a little afternoon sugar hit. Also, this
time of the year just wouldn’t be complete
without a fish pie, so check out our fabulous
family recipes (p14) that certainly deliver.
To carry on the fun, I’m off to scatter a little
cottonwool of my own around my son
Orlando’s bedroom and my office floor, then
sit back and decide which chocolate egg to
eat first! Now, take charge of your own fun
and hop into the joy of life – and chocolate –
before it passes you by!
