Made with bought puff pastry, our savoury and
sweet twisted treats will be a hit with all ages
1 Cheese & Bacon
Pastry Twists
MAKES 10 PREP 10 minutes
COOK 20 minutes COST $1.10 each
2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed + 1 egg,
lightly whisked + 30g parmesan, finely
grated + 5 rashers streaky bacon, rind
removed, cut into 1cm-wide long strips
- ¼ cup maple-flavoured syrup
- 2 tablespoons wholegrain mustard
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped
flat-leaf parsley
1 Preheat the oven to 180ºC/160ºC
fan-forced. Line 2 oven trays with baking
paper. Stack pastry sheets on a clean work
surface. Roll together to form 1 sheet. Brush
with egg; sprinkle with parmesan. Cut
pastry into 10 strips. Place a strip of bacon
over each one; twist pastry strips and
bacon together. Place on prepared trays.
2 Bake twists, turning halfway through
cooking, for 20 minutes or until browned
and puffed. Transfer to a wire rack. Whisk
maple-flavoured syrup, wholegrain
mustard, Dijon mustard and half the
parsley in a bowl. Sprinkle pastry twists
with remaining parsley. Serve with
dipping sauce.
2 Cheese & Spinach

2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed - 50g fresh ricotta + 50g frozen chopped
spinach, thawed + 20g parmesan,
finely grated + 1 egg, lightly whisked
1 Preheat the oven to 180ºC/160ºC
fan-forced. Line 2 oven trays with baking
paper. Stack pastry sheets on a clean work
surface. Roll together to form 1 sheet. Brush
with egg. Combine ricotta, spinach and
parmesan in a bowl. Spread pastry with
ricotta mixture. Cut pastry into 10 strips.
Twist pastry strips. Place on prepared trays.
