it open. Repeat this step for two
overalls back shapes.
32
Match the two pocket shapes,
right sides together, and stitch
around them, leaving an opening at the
top, as shown on the pattern. Clip the
corners and curves and turn the pocket
right side out, pushing the seam out
gently. Slip stitch the opening closed
neatly and press the pocket well.
33
Pin the pocket to the front of the
overalls where marked on the
pattern. Stitch it in place close to the
side and bottom edges.
34
Match the overalls front and
back, right sides together, and
stitch the outside leg seams. Press
them open.
35
Align and pin the edges of the
inner leg seam, matching the
centre front and back seams at the
crotch. Stitch, starting at one ankle,
going up to the crotch and back
down to the other ankle. Press.
Turn the overalls right side out.
36
For the overalls lining, repeat
Step 31 to sew the centre
front seams.
37
On the overalls back lining, lay
the hem facing shapes, right
sides together, on the legs, matching
the seam line marked on the pattern
with the seam line on the facing, as
shown in Diagram 2. Before stitching,
check that they’re correctly
positioned by pinning on the seam
lines and folding the facings over
onto the leg – the edges should all
match. Stitch both facings in place,
then trim the surplus taupe linen
fabric from behind the facing. Repeat
this step for the overalls front lining.
38
Repeat Steps 34-35. Leave the
lining inside out.
39
Place the outer overalls inside
the lining, right sides together
and seams and edges matching, and
pin. Starting 1in from the centre back
seam, stitch up around one long strap,
down around the armhole, around a
shorter strap, around the front neck
and other shorter strap, around the
other armhole and long strap and stop
1in from the centre back so there’s an
opening of 2in. Clip the curves and
trim the corners of the straps.
40
Turn the overalls right side
out through the opening you
left, pushing the legs of the lining
into the outer legs and using a
turning tool to push out the straps
gently. Slip stitch the opening closed
at the centre back and press all the
way around the edge. Topstitch close
to the edge all the way around.
41
Turn under^11 ⁄ 4 in hems at the
lower edges of the legs and
linings and pin them together with
the folded edges level. Topstitch
close to the edges.
42
Mark a vertical buttonhole at
the end of both long straps the
correct length for the buttons you’re
using. Stitch and cut them open.
43
Cover the buttons with blue
check fabric according to the
manufacturer’s instructions.
44
Put the overalls on Albert.
Bring the longer back straps
over to the front and lap them over
the shorter front straps. Mark the
positions for the buttons on the
shorter straps. Turn up the faced
hems of the overalls to form cuffs
and pin them in place.
45
Remove the overalls from the
bunny and stitch the covered
buttons to the shorter straps where
marked. Sew some invisible hand
