The original design of the 1867 home prioritised
shade and airflow, and the materials were chosen
to endure. Built from timber (ironbark, pine and
cedar), it features sturdy spotted-gum porches and
generous awnings supported by handmade beams.
The 13-year-old barn is termite-resistant ironbark.
Many of its recycled timbers were once trusses at
Yeerongpilly train station, which opened in 1884.
“You can still see soot on them,” says Juliette.‘The paint colour and decorative
choices give warmth to what’s a very
white house.’Juliette WrightPaint colours are reproduced as accurately as printing processes allow.
