Got a big test or work preso coming up? Go
over the deets with your bestie. Research published
in the journal Learning & Memory found that when
people receive information and tell someone about it
straight away, they’re more likely to recall the details later on.
During the study, psychologists showed a group of students
a heap of videos, then quizzed them about the themes and
minor details. Those who ran through the info with pals were
able to remember the details a week later, compared to
those who didn’t. The trick doesn’t just work for tests,
either. According to the pros, if you need to remember
who your new co-workers are, try repeating their
names to yourself along with a cue, such as
“John with the blue eyes” or “Becky with
the good hair”. Wink, wink,
Beyoncé fans.
