If you’re keen to slash your risk of heart disease, add some
whole grains to your plate, pronto. Researchers from the
University of Queensland found that when people nosh on
grains, such as oats and barley, their rates of bad cholesterol
decrease by up to 57 per cent – which spells excellent news
for your ticker. Not ready to put oats back on brekkie rotation
just yet? No problem! Instead, try replacing some of the fl our in
your mu ns and cakes with rolled oats, bulk up your salads with
barley, or combine the two power grains with chopped nuts,
coconut fl akes and honey to make a delish homemade muesli.
