GENEROUS PUNTERS
Our charity weekend came just a few
days after the rains(although a little
more would havebeen nice).Itwas
going tobeacrackerofadayto
throw some roost, and 27punters
fromalloverQld,includingthe
SunnyCoast,Bundaberg,Agnes
Waters and Gladstone,waxed their
facialhairinreadiness. The
moustachesranged from something
Chopper Read would havebeen
proudof,tomoswithlesshairthana
supermodel’s eyebrows.
There was aquickrundown of the
corner-man system and a detailed
explanation of our number one rule,
which was that if your handlebar
touchedthegrounditwasa$5fine
forMovember.Withmost ofthe
punters nodding in agreement and
the rest lookingaround for abank,
we mounted our trusty steeds and
rodeoffthroughtheBoyneValley to
the mighty Kalpowar.
I led theboys through everything

from fire trails,twin track,hills,
creeksand,of course,the elusive
singletrack,untilIthought theywere
almost warmed upenough for
something alittlemorevertically
challenging.PileUpHill definitely
lived upto her name as she induced
quite a few $5 donations as I watched
from thetopconcealinganevilsmile
under my cheesy mo.
Oncewewereallat thetopafew

race to smoko, during which Big Stan
