Although
Jamie
works
outside, his
jobasadiggeroperator
is mainly sedentary.
The Perth-based
27-year-old was
alwaysskinnyasakid
but a combination of
inactivity and poor
diet choices led him
to pile on the kilos in
his twenties.
As recently as early
last year his day
wouldgosomething
like this: work 9-5
sitting down and
eating junk food, head
lying on the bed
eatingabowlofice
cream and holding a
beer with my other
hand,andIlookedat
myself and thought:
“Gee, I’m big.”
He also thought
about his three-year-
oldson.“Ididn’twant
tobeabigslobfor
him.Iwantedto
be healthy.”
Laekin had just
completed a six-week
challenge at the
Joondalup Result
Based Training (RBT)
gymwithexcellent
outcomes, and Jamie,
conscious he had to
bite the bullet, decided
he’d give the 28-day
versionago.
The challenge
gives participants
access to nutritionists
andpersonaltrainers
so they can set
achievable weightloss
targets. Diet-wise,
Jamie was advised to
eat the equivalent of
eight palms of protein,
six fists of veg and
two fists of carbs
aday.Thiswasin
conjunction with a
hardcore training
regime: daily HIIT
sessions and weekend
bootcamps.
Ironically,hefound
the new diet very
demanding and
couldbarelyeatallthe
food, which mainly
consisted of kangaroo
andveggies,butonce
his metabolism
ramped up he couldn’t
get enough. When the
challenge finished
he’dlost7kg—down
from 93kg to 86kg.
The impressive
result inspired him
to sign up for RBT’s
transformation
program, which
focusesonboth
weightloss and
muscle-building. The
diet philosophy is eat
whatyouwantas
long as you don’t
exceed 2,000 calories,
andensureyou
consume your food
in 35% protein, 35%
carbs and 30% fat
proportions. Jamie
was stoked: he could
even eat burgers!
In the gym he
was now training a
different body part
everyday,increasing
weight volume, and
smashing bootcamps.

rippling with muscle.

and 10% body fat
— a phenomenal
makeover in just
six months.
He says the secret
to a successful
transformation is
sticking to it and
setting attainable
