I think the reason that this story has been
told in so many different ways is because
when we watch it, we see ourselves in
both Belle and the Beast. In my mind,
Belle and the Beast are symbolic for the
two sides that are within all of us and
how we reconcile those different parts.
It reflects how we balance our masculine
and feminine energies, which we all have
inside ourselves. It’s also a story about
seeing deeper and seeing beyond the
superficial and the exterior, and I think
that really resonates with people.WERE YOU NERVOUS ABOUT
STEPPING INTO BELLE’S ICONIC
YELLOW BALL GOWN?
It’s really funny because people have been
asking me if I was nervous and if it wasa big deal to wear the yellow dress for the
first time. But honestly, all I was thinking
about was how Dan (actor Dan Stevens,
who plays the Beast) and I were not going
to kill each other while doing the dance...KILL EACH OTHER?!
Because Dan was on stilts and I was
wearing heels and we were doing a full-
blown waltz across a massive ballroom!
I was wearing the dress and Dan has all
kinds of crazy stuff going on, and we had
to remember the dance steps. I couldn’t
think about anything really, other than
that performance, and making sure neither
of us broke a leg or fell over!DO YOU THINK YOUR DANCING

I think so, yes! That’s a really bold claim,
