to know them as a person, not just a number.

Our morning classical class duration is either 1

¾or2hoursandwillcover: barrework,centre

practise – pirouettes, adage and allegro.

At what level is the class pitched? Will I

need my pointe shoes?

All students auditioning for our accredited full

timecourseparticipateinourfirstyearclasses.

They are invited to spend one to three days with

ustoexperiencenotonlyourclassicalclasses

butcontemporary/flamenco/jazz–dependent

onthedaystheyarewithus.Aprivatepointe

class with the director will be conducted after

the initial classical class as part of the formal

audition process. A private interview with the

director takes place on your last day.

We understand that auditioning is stressful

andwefeelthatstudentswillperformbetterif

itisnotputdowntooneclass.Theyalso

experienceourschoolandgettomeetother

full-timestudents.TheNTBSbelievesthatis

notonlytheschoolacceptingthestudentbut

theschoolbeingtherightfitforthe student.

Will I be asked to perform solo?

No.

Is it ok to ask questions to clarify

understanding?

TheNTBSpromotesquestionsandinteraction

inthe classroom – all students are allowed a

voice to help their understanding and mental

processtoimprovetheirtechnicalskills.

I would suggest that you remain with the

instruction – the student will always be given

The NTBS full-time students are always informed

if a student is auditioning so they can make the

ADT Youth Ensemble.
