THANKS!
I found the latest issue of EFY on
my desk. I just read it and found
myself unaware of several techno-
logical developments. So kudos to
your team as you are doing your job
exceedingly well!
I would ask myself why two
magazines EFY and EB from the
same stable and apparently for the
same audience, but then I realised
EFY is primarily focused on its
core audience—engineers, geeks,
developers and decision makers in
the technical sphere, whereas EB is
consolidating foothold in commercial
decision making.
Last but not the least, I was really
impressed with Binay’s 12W LED
tubelight with lumens output equiva-
lent to an 18W standard tubelight’s!

EFY. Your email made our day! We
are happy that you found the recent
issue informative, and that through
the letter you have explained to
our esteemed readers the difference
between EFY and EB. Thanks for the
good wishes!
GREEN MOBILITY
The article ‘Green Mobility’ published
in June issue is very interesting and
covers at great length developments
in all the countries. The heart of an
electric vehicle (EV) is an electric
engine. Electric engines are brushless
DC (or BLDC) motors with high-
energy rare earth magnets powered by
Li-ion batteries. Compared to indus-
trial motors’ 2kW per kg, the recent
advances allow BLDC motors to out-
put 5kW per kg. We are using BLDC
motors extensively for both linear and
rotary applications. Entrepreneurs
interested in using these motors can
contact us for details.

The author Sanjay Banerjee replies:
Your inputs are valuable, and it would
be my pleasure if you share some
more details of your work in this sec-
tor. Readers like you motivate us to
dig deeper on a subject and write for
the greater benefit of the society.
Your article ‘Green Mobility’ is very
helpful for startups to understand the
future of EVs as also the current sce-
nario in Li-ion sector in India. Please
also publish some article on govern-
ment’s policies and future plan for EVs.

The author Sanjay Banerjee replies:
It is a pleasure knowing that you
have gained from the article. Going
forward, it would be our endeavour to
write an articulated article on Indian
government’s policies for the sector.
As I understand, India lags behind in
the race of lithium reserves. Therefore
it must look at other forms of energy
to drive the Green Mobility vision. My
next article in this issue focuses on
how different organisations are gear-
ing up to take advantage of Electric
Vision - 2030 set forth.
MESSAGE DISPLAY
We are looking for a complete kit of

FINGERPRINT DOOR LOCK
In ‘Fingerprint Door Unlock System
Using Arduino’ DIY article pub-
lished in EFY Jan. 2016, can we use
any other module if correct Rx pins
are selected?

The code for this project shows the
following error message:
“Fatal error: Adafruit_Fingerprint.h:
no such directory
#include compilation terminated. Exit
status 1. Error compiling for board
Arduino/Genuino uno.”
Please help.

The author Dinu D. replies to Sandeep
Chakraborty:
This project will not work with other
biometric modules because almost
all the commands (99.9 per cent) for
other sensors are different. To verify
this, you can compare the datasheet
of R305 sensor with other sensors’.
Reply to Chris:
This error in the code is because
you didn’t add the Fingerprint.h
header file for R305 module. Please
include library file in the Arduino
folder and try again.
