Maria Grazia Chiuri focused on travel and self-discovery,
borrowing from the boys for Dior’s 70th anniversary with a
series of oversized safari and adventure-friendly jackets. To
show intrepid doesn’t have to mean unfeminine, they were
paired with long, flowing skirts. The jackets, capes and coats
got the couture treatment, with tribal patchwork and hand-
painted and embellished accents, but it was the accessories
that really carried the collection. Notable were the binocular-
inspired sunglasses, fancy fedoras and matching gloves, all
of which illustrated that the Dior woman isn’t afraid to visit
lands uncharted—as long as she’s got the wardrobe for it.
