F
or all the men out there who insist that
shopping is a chore, DFS has rewritten the
lore of the land. Because Timepieces &
Whiskies, the new T Galleria-based boutique
at the City of Dreams complex in Macau, is a veritable
treasure trove for men. Focused on just two products,
watches and whisky, it is designed to get the modern
man’s heart racing.
With a curated collection of heirloom pieces and
long-forgotten drams from these two highly prized
worlds, DFS’s newest boutique is fast becoming a
source of great joy for the men of Macau. Housed
within the men’s fashion floor and adjacent to the
shoe hall, Timepieces & Whiskies is the ideal place
to while away an afternoon trying on watches while
sipping on scotch.
Stocked with a curated selection of 30 whisky
brands from Scotland, Japan and Taiwan, including
The Macallan, Glenmorangie and Highland Park,
the sleek mahogany bar at Timepieces & Whiskies
offers daily-guided tastings. Which makes it the ideal
destination for both novices hoping to understand
more about the world of highland drams and
connoisseurs looking for the latest liquid gold
to show off to their peers.
And whisky lovers from across the region are
now making their way to Macau to try the exclusive
or limited edition products on offer, which include
William Grant & Sons Àraid Rare Cask Reserves and
Glenmorangie Legends Collection, widely
egarded as among the greatest distillations
of our time.
“With Timepieces & Whiskies, we bring
the classic hospitality tradition into the
retail shopping experience,” says Brooke
Supernaw, DFS senior vice-president of
pirits. “Whether a whisky lover or simply
ious to learn more about the spirit, today’s
sh wants to explore and be taken on a
t i j urney.”
If ’re more of a watch man than
a h man, there is a selection of
ti pieces to rival the great horological
boutiques of Zurich and Paris.
Carefully selected by DFS’s highly
knowledgeable team, the collection
includes classic models from iconic
b ands such as IWC Schaffhausen
a d Zenith, as well as newly released
off i gs from niche watchmakers like
N Glashütte and Romain Jerome.
“B ilding your watch collection is
i l personal,” says Christophe
Ch i , DFS senior vice-president of fashion
and accessories. “Timepieces & Whiskies allows
collectors not only to explore some of our watch
buyers’ favourite pieces of the moment, but to engage
in a dialogue on the latest trends, niche brands and
how to round out your collection. We look forward to
building a community of enthusiasts and indulging
them in the best of the watch world right in Macau.”
Indulgence is undoubtedly the word most
applicable to this utterly tempting boutique. And
nowhere was that clearer than at the mid-August
launch party, when 200 whisky and watch enthusiasts
gathered to taste The Macallan Rare Cask Black
and the Glenmorangie Signet, among a range
of other whiskies.
This was done while weighing up exactly which
timepiece they were going to buy as their midsummer
treat. Or, given that it’s December in just a few
months, which scotch and watch are going to take
the top two places on their Christmas lists. Wives
and girlfriends: we hope you were taking notes. Q
