5.7 Conclusion...........................................
The mixed-methods approach is used in the current research in order to combine
strengths of quantitative and qualitative research methods. This chapter presents
results and discussion of the quantitative survey data from altogether 187 valid
teacher questionnaires and 204 valid student questionnaires. All the questionnaire
data were collected for component analysis. The main factors extracted from the
two data sets were analyzed via SPSS 21.0 and compared with the aim to under-
stand task demands from both teachers’and students’perspective.
Similar factors (decoding, discourse construction (macro and micro) and
note-taking) representative of task demands are extracted from both teacher ques-
tionnaires and student questionnaires. But the distinctive priority and sequence of
factors in both factor structures manage to reveal teachers’and students’divergent
perception of TEM 8 Mini-lecture comprehension to a noticeable extent.
