yoghurt or coconut yoghurt with a very
low sugar content.
The same rule goes for milk, cheese

  • all dairy. I buy the full-fat version of
everything. Natural fats fill you up and
    eliminate the hungry feeling. Dairy
products are a good source of calcium,
protein, iodine, vitamin A and D, riboflavin,
    vitamin B12 and zinc.
    Obviously, don’t go crazy on
    dairy! And check the sugar
    and salt content. I probably
consume a cup of milk, plus
30g of cheese a day; perhaps
    some sour cream and/or
    butter in my cooking.
    There’s speculation that
    cutting back on dairy is
    really good for some people

  • this isn’t the
    case for me,
    as I’m not
    lactose
    intolerant.

Bernadette Fisers
globetrotted, beautifying
well-known faces.
While work was going
well, Bernie, now 52,
struggled with her
weight, eventually
reaching 128kg. “I was fat and getting
fatter by the minute, and on the brink
of diabetes, with hypertension (high

blood pressure) and a fatty liver,”
she recalls.
Just two years ago Bernie,
having tried everything else, took
the unlikely step of enlisting the
support of her trim celeb clients

  • among them, women who’d
    been on their own weight-loss
journey. Piece by piece, she solved
    her very own weight-loss puzzle,
going on to lose an astounding 30kg in
30 weeks! Here, she shares the diet rules
that worked for her – and she still follows.
