Thompson from New Zealand. To be
honest, I really didn’t want to attend;
I hated pastels! But my wonderful
encouraging friend assured me that I
would love good quality pastels. So
I pushed myself out of my comfort
zone once again. As a teacher Maxine
was very patient and helpful and
thorough in her teachings. As an artist,
she is gob smacking and certainly an
inspiration for all who met her.
Since inviting art back into my life
again, it has been a jam packed two
years! I feel extremely lucky as I’ve
got to spend time with some amazing
artists in their own right and watched
them dabble in their element! I’ve
been able to travel to Brisbane to see
an exhibition, “Portraits of Spain,
Masterpieces from the Prado”, held at
the Queensland Art Gallery. Paintings
I never thought I’d see in my life
time! And I also have been fortunate
enough to find myself mingling
amongst other amazing artists from
throughout the North. I feel like I’ve
only just started my art journey, but
it has been an awe inspiring journey
so far! And that brings me to 2013
and sending photos of some of my
art work to Artist’s Palette magazine.
Truly, thank you for this opportunity!
Your magazine has been very
inspiring and useful to me, especially
when my creativity has been lagging.
I get engrossed for hours whilst
reading it. Sincerely, thank you again!
