Show, held in Bendigo in mid-July, as organisers said even
the national lack of rainfall had failed to keep people away.
While most attending the show were there to inspect the
pride of stud breeding stocks around the nation, they also
checked out the latest products on offer from local machinery
manufacturers and retailers.
Here are some of the new machines and products that caught
our eye when we visited.
FARMPRO 3.2M DUMP FEEDER
FarmPro’s new dump feeder was designed to reduce wastage
by preventing sheep from running across lines of feed
distributed – instead dropping the feed at regular 3m intervals.
Remote controllable and with the amount of feed drops able to
be pre-set, the dump feeder comes with a one year warranty on
electrics and a four-year structural warranty.
The bin is fully washable with a galvanised steel cone and hot-
dipped galvanised frame, and allows a divider to be fitted for the
use of two or more grains.
TE PARI RACEWELL HD4 HANDLER
Part of Te Pari’s Racewell range, the HD4 Handler weighs
and sorts sheep using four automatic drafting gates –
allowing the farmer to sort flocks based on weight or
other criteria.
Sheep entering the handlers are held in a clamp, weighing
the animal and allowing it to be tipped onto its side for
crutching and other procedures, while an auto-sensing
backing hook prevents sheep from reversing mid-race,
helping to improve workflows.
Complementing this is the Te Pari Revolution dosing gun, which
canbeprogrammed to accurately dose drenches and injectable
medicines based on the weight of the animal in the race. It can
be fitted with barrels sized at 70ml (pictured), 14ml and 6ml.
ADVANTAGE GRAIN FEEDERS
Two new grain feeders have been developed by the Australian
company, with the M1800HD mobile grain feeder able to feed
up to 250 ewes/lambs in a paddock, with a feed volume of up
to 1,800L.
Designed for small farms, the 150HD grain feeder can hold a
feed volume of 150L – and a feed weight of up to 70kg of oats or
up to 110kg of wheat or lupins – enough to feed up to 30 ewes
and lambs in a paddock.
The 150HD also comes with brackets as standard, allowing the
feeder to be hung on gates, fences or steel posts.
BOBCAT TL38.70HF AGRICULTURAL
TELEHANDLER
Distributed in Australia by Clark Equipment, the 97kW (130
horsepower) telehandler is the largest in Bobcat’s agricultural
telescopic loader range – with a maximum lift height of 6.9m
and rated lift capacity of 3,800kg.
Designed with a fully automatic hydrostatic transmission,
including a two-speed gearbox, and a compact engine hood
and pillarless rear window to offer high visibility, the telehandler
delivers power quickly when needed, and can reach a top speed
of 40km/h.
The Bobcat speed management system also allows the
operator to adjust their travel speed independently of the
engine speed – helpful in circumstances that require a slow and
constant travel speed while using an attachment that requires a
higher engine speed.
