is moved onto the next rib and
so on. Before long, I kind of
got the same pre-shade efect
as using masking tape, but in
double quick time. When this
was completed, I then could
use H309 Green to inish the
wings. Personally, I think this
combination is not far of a
faded PC10. Next task is to mask
of for a red marking on the
top wing, luckily the mask set
included with the kit has this
feature. So out the tape again
and soon I was able to prime
the area with white Stynylrez.
Tamiya XF-7 mixed with a
touch of is then pre-shaded
using the same card technique
as before using straight red
inish. Wings now completed
it’s back to the fuselage.
Remember the parts that are
on cockpit sticks? Well these
were primed in white Stynylrez
for starters. When dry they
were painted appropriate
colours using Vallejo Model
Color including the photo etch
seatbelts. The cockpit loor is
bare wood, so this was irst
sprayed XF 3 Yellow, then
Burnt Umber oil paint, lightly
applied using a fan brush to
simulate wood grain. As oil can
take a while to dry, I moved
on to the two-blade propeller.
This already had White Primer
applied, so I carefully drew
the wood laminates, not easy
in 1/48 but, after..er...quite a
few attempts I was reasonably
happy with the look of it. Model
Color, Deep Yellow and Medium
Flesh was then used to colour
in the between lines. These
acrylics dry pretty quickly so
I mixed up a Burnt Umber oil
wash and gave the propeller six
or seven liberal coats, this both
stains and adds depth. Aqueous
Clear Yellow and Orange, H91
and H92 respectively, was
then sprayed over the prop
to inish the wood efect,
a inal coat of Alclad Aqua
The cockpit came
out very well
....was a bit of a challenge!
Masking up the wings
Adding the decals
A little light rigging......
The Eduard ProfiPACK Brisfit
does build up into a fine
example of a handsome
Great War machine.
