another way to identify it.

Harlequinladybirds,although
ostensiblylikeournativespecies,are
actuallya greatcauseforconcern
becausetheycanquicklyoutcompete
thenativeonesforfoodandhabitats.

aphids,butwhenfoodis in shortsupply
theycanturntheirattentionstouseful
gardencreaturessuchladybirdlarvae
andbutterflyeggsandcaterpillars.

feedonstickyhoneydewsecretedby

scaleinsects,whichhave taken up
residencenearby.
Allyoucandois tacklesapfeeders
withaninsecticide,suchasBugClear
Ultra,thatguardsagainstaninfestation
foraroundthreeweeks.Whenthe
creatureshavebeeneradicatedandthe
honeydewsourceceases,thesooty
mouldwill,eventually,disappear.
