beach umbrellas. Naturally the A-frame crane
also allows for much safer loading and offloading,
as well as eliminating any incline problems.
Another outstanding feature is the fold-down
bulwarks on both sides of the cockpit. When
down they sit flush with the teak flooring and
extend out of the cockpit surface to offer
uninterrupted views. It is not just about more
space being added to an already large area; rather
it is about the sense of being in contact with the
sea and the surrounding landscape, which lends
an ineffable sense of freedom.
A lot of attention has also been paid to toy
storage and facilitating long stays on board the
Flexplorer for non-stop passages to remote
destinations. Certain features make it the perfect
vessel for those wanting to stay active while
cruising. For example, there is a dedicated
stainless-steel drainable storage space with a
boards rack that electro-hydraulically pops up on
deck; there are different slots for a 500kg carbon-
fiber removable crane; and the first unit has a
proper gym with plenty of natural light thanks to
the skylights installed in the deck. There are also
lots of storage compartments, which allow for
long passages without stopping to resupply.
With a length overall of 39.37 meters (130ft)
and a beam of 8.5 meters (27.8ft), guest areas are
spread over four decks. The generously sized
interior hosts four large guest suites on the lower
deck in addition to the owner’s suite located on
the main deck. The main deck superstructure
features a full-beam configuration to make the
most of the beam, while the upper deck has
walk-arounds for both functional and aesthetic
reasons. The flow of the interior layout of the
main deck is fairly conventional with a main
salon encompassing a dining area, a galley to
port and the stateroom forward.
Lots of indoor and outdoor areas on all

decks provide guests with every amenity and
comfort during non-stop passages to remote
destinations. Despite being a medium-sized
yacht, the Flexplorer has a thoughtfully laid-out
configuration that offers plenty of privacy to
owners and guests both indoors and out. The
outdoor spaces are quite remarkable: in addition
to the large cockpit there is also a stern terrace
on the upper deck and a panoramic sundeck
with a spa pool and sun loungers.
With twin Caterpillar C32s delivering 746kW
each, the boat will reach a top speed of 14 knots,
and at 8.5 knots she will have a range of around
5,000 nautical miles.
The Flexplorer is a stunning feat of technology
wrapped in an elegant design by Hydro Tec naval
architect Sergio Cutolo. Its eye-catching
superstructure, near-vertical bow and huge deck
are not just exercises in style – they serve to
provide the yacht with all the features that make
it the perfect ocean-going vessel, able to face all
sorts of weather conditions in safety and comfort.
The first in the line is under construction and
is due to be deliveredtoits owner next year.
