Indoor fun
18 June 2019 Time Out UAE Kids
outdoorsy feel, which is perfect if you’re not a
big fan of AC-restricted fun. This is a popular
summer spot for birthday parties and there’s
a laser arcade and Lego station for older kids
too, so more options for young ones of all
ages. Practical, we like it.
O From Dhs42 (per child, one-hour access). Open
Sun-Thu, 9am-9pm; Fri-Sat, 9.30am-10pm. Al Wasl
Centre, near Business Bay Metro station, Sheikh Zayed
Road, funkymonkeysuae.com (04 388 4114).
Hub Zero
This is one for older kiddies, as it’s a more
futuristic way to spend time indoors. Hub
Zero is an indoor gaming park, with a mix
of rides, attractions and action zones. The
park is quite immersive, with challenges and
interactivity being the main concepts, and is a
good opportunity for Mums and Dads to have
a good time with the kids while avoiding the
summer sizzle.
With the largest LAN gaming zone in the
UAE, in addition to karaoke and party rooms, a
pool hall and a retro arcade, thrill-seekers will
find themselves at this all-round indoor play
experience – guaranteed.
O From Dhs100 (Pay and Play). Sat-Wed 2pm-10pm;
Thu-Fri 2pm-midnight. City Walk, Al Safa Street,
hubzerodubai.com (800 637227).
Kids Jungle
We’ve got another jungle-themed playcare
facility in Dubai for you at Dubai Silicon Oasis.
Kidz Palooza
Hub Zero
O From Dhs47.25 (one hour). Open daily 9am-10pm.
Kids Jungle, Cedre Shopping Centre, Dubai Silicon
Oasis, kidsjungle.ae (04 333 7388).
Kidz Palooza
The only thing that’s better than big play
areas, are bigger play areas. Imagine 4,
square feet to play with – you can cram a
lot in. That means there are spacious zones
such as a multi-tiered playground with all the
crash mats and all the netting a sugar-rushed
toddler could hope for.
Designed for kids aged up to twelve years
old, at Kidz Palooza there’s also a cartoon-
style mock market, a toddler town for very
young ones to bump about in, an art gallery,
a console arcade, a Lego-building room and
a few more surprises thrown in for good
measure. Boy, do we just love surprises.
An on-site salon and spa for little ones (and
mums) makes this place even more enticing
- and there’s a special “first haircut” service,
too. Only a trim, please.
O From Dhs50 (play package, first hour). Open Sat-Wed
9am-10pm; Thu and Fri 9am-midnight. Times Square
Centre, Sheikh Zayed Road, kidzpalooza.ae
(04 330 7101).
Little Explorers
They call it The Playmania – and it’s among
the top places for younger kids to play indoors.
Designed for kids aged three to seven,
kids learn and discover at Little Explorers
in a colourful setting that’s fun, yet also
challenging enough for them to develop their
skills. The venue has 97 different exhibits
across five zones and also holds workshops
for kids so there’s learning to be done too.
A joy for young families in that
neighbourhood, Kids Jungle houses themed
slides, climbing toys, tunnels, a ball pool and
soft play. On top all of that, there are activities
and classes every day making it a good place
to regularly meet other parents while the
kids run wild. Hey, it’s a jungle after all, so we
better embrace all the learning.
