CULTURE
Al Ahmadiya School
Established in 1912, take a
look around the first national
semi-regular school in the
emirate of Dubai, founded
by His Eminence the late
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Dalmouk,
a leading pearl merchant at
the time.

Alserkal Avenue One of the
region’s best art spaces,
this venue is home to some
amazing galleries and
co-working spaces. Many
art festivals take place here
throughout the year.

Jumeirah Mosque Built in the
traditional Fatimid style, this
monument can hold up to
1,200 worshippers. Guided
tours are available.

Dubai Frame A brand-new
attraction, the landmark
stands 150 metres tall and
“frames” views of both Old
and New Dubai.

Dubai Museum Opened in
1971, this museum is housed
in the oldest building in the
city, Al Fahidi Fort. Colourful
dioramas and enthralling
exhibits depict scenes of
everyday life throughout
Dubai’s history.

Dubai Opera A 2,000-seater
theatre that hosts a wide
range of world-class
performances throughout the
year. All-access, behind-the-
scenes tours are available.

Dubai Police Museum
Established in 1987, this
museum showcases the
history of the Dubai police
force since its formation
in 1956. On display are
artefacts showcasing the
development and progress
of the city’s Police Force. It’s
filled with old photographs,
exhibits, weapons
and equipment.

Naif Museum This museum
is housed in a historic fort
that was constructed in
1939 almost entirely from
clay. While the fort was
renovated in the early 1990s,
its archaeological features
were meticulously conserved.
Visitors to this fort, which was
Dubai’s first police station,
can see models of police
uniforms ranging from the
traditional to the modern,
police badges and medals
as well as models of arrest
and detention rooms.

Saruq Al-Hadid Archaeology
Museum This relatively new
museum takes you into a
stunning world of gold, silver
and bronze artefacts from an
archaeological site discovered
by His Highness Sheikh
Mohammed Bin Rashid
Al Maktoum, Vice-President
and Prime Minister of the UAE
and Ruler of Dubai,
while flying his helicopter.

Al Seef A new shopping
and dining destination on
the banks of Dubai Creek,
featuring a section designed
to replicate Dubai’s historic
architecture. It’s a
family-friendly venue with
lots to do.

Bateaux Dubai Dine on board
this floating, glass-clad vessel
as it journeys up and down
the Dubai Creek.

own floating, doughnut-
shaped vessel and cook

Burj Al Arab Jumeirah One
of the city’s most enduring
tourist attractions, if only for
the obligatory photograph.

Desert Safari A ritual for
most visitors to the city, head
out into the desert in a 4x4 to
enjoy a barbecue meal, camel
rides and belly dancing,
among other experiences.

Dinner in the Sky A unique
dining concept. Tuck into a
meal while you’re held aloft,
50 metres up, by a crane,

Dubai Aquarium &
Underwater Zoo
A ten-million-litre aquarium
home to thousands of sea
creatures (including sand
tiger sharks), in addition to an
educational zoo on marine,
reptile and amphibious
creatures.

Dubai Ice Rink An Olympic-
sized rink in the centre of The
Dubai Mall, with coaching

Dubai Safari Housing 2,500
animals belonging to an
astounding 250 species,
Dubai Safari is also home
to the world’s first drive-thru
crocodile exhibit, the UAE’s
largest aviary exhibit, and the
UAE’s only drive-thru hippo
and tiger exhibit. Visitors can
check out African, Arabian,
Asian and an Open Safari.

Green Planet A bio-dome
hosting a collection of
flaura and fauna, designed

Hub Zero An immersive
gaming park. There are 18
unique games on the ground
