1969 MICROBUS
All in the detail...
Let’s take a closer look
Top The cab area retains the stock factory look but with wood
rim steering wheel, twin cupholder, CSP shifter adding mild
custom touches
Upper middle Arizona licence plate
Lower middle Matching door cards, with billet door handles.
Note new inertia reel seatbelts
Bottom A spotless engine bay is home to a new twin carb
1915cc motor
piping detailing for the seats, as
he thought it more striking than
the original light grey / medium
grey used for 68/9models. This
was carried out by Escobedo’s
Upholstery in Apache Junction, who
also fitted a full-length headliner for
that Deluxe Microbus feel and look.
The addition of new Wolfsburg West
rubber mats for cab and load floors
brings in a stock, factory look touch.
The cab area itself retains the
stock factory look, with the dash
refinished in black. An MCJ Oak
rim Steering Wheel and twin
cupholder finished to match the
dash add period custom style,
with the surfboard style rear view
mirror and plated door adding to
the look. Concessions to modernity
include a Pioneer stereo system with
speakers inset into the door panel,
and the addition of tachometer, oil
temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, and
voltage gauge as well as inertia reel
seat belts
