DIRTY RACK
BIKE CARRIER
DON’T BE FOOLED by the
low-brow name, this motorcycle
carrier is anything but crude. Not
only is it Australian made, but it’s
constructed from mild steel and
comes with a loading ramp and
LED taillights.
The carrier slides into the
towbar receiver and, in the case of
this Ford Maverick, the loaded bike
easily clears the rear window and
spare tyre but accessing the cargo
area of the vehicle requires
hopping over the seats. It is light
and can be easily connected to the
towbar receiver by one person.
The biggest benefi t of a
motorcycle carrier like this is that
you don’t have to tow a trailer or
register one.
Speaking of registration, we use
our spare plate and bolt it to the
rack and, at this stage, have had
no issues from the boys in blue.
Although, we are unsure of the
legality as each state’s laws differ.
The Dirty Rack comes with a
ramp that allows you to easily roll
the bike up onto the carrier, where
a slot locates the front wheel. We
couldn’t fi nd anywhere to store
the ramp on the rack so you have
to fi nd somewhere else for it when
it is not in use.
The rack rocks a little while
driving but we have not lost a bike
or smashed the rear window.

VERDICT
With a price tag of $399.95,
I believe you are getting a
bargain here. The Fly F2
Carbon ticked all the boxes
for my head. No, I did not
crash-test it but I think it
would be fi ne. We test
plenty of products and
some don’t make this
section, only the good stuff
does, so when I said I really
found it hard to fi nd
anything negative about
this helmet I meant it. With
so many colours and styles
I am sure anyone can fi nd

VENTILATION All of the
riding I did wearing the F2
was during summer days,
providing a good chance to
test the TFV ventilation
system. It did a good job of
keeping sweat to a minimum.
BALANCE I am a big fan of
how balanced the F2 felt on
my head. Some helmets feel
heavy in the front but not
this one. The peak also has a
large range of adjustability,
making it versatile in
changing weather conditions.
FINISH The F2’s fi nish is top
quality with very clean colour
lines that stand out in a
crowd. I’m a fan of the fl uoro
yellow and black design.

LINER Honestly there is not
much to dislike with this lid. If
I was being super fussy, I
would say that the liner could
be a little easier to re-install
