Not many yards could so faithfully translate a design
as bold as Project Shark into a fully realised 90m
superyacht, but that’s exactly what Oceanco achieved
when Hull Y717 splashed down in the Netherlands.
Her designer, the Miami-based Luiz de Basto, said:
“The guys at the yard were phenomenal. They were so
careful to respect the design.” The code name stems
from the original concept with its "hammerhead"
bow and a mast inspired by a shark's fin. But it is the
monolithic superstructure glazing, stretching across
three decks, that has de Basto most excited: “This is
the big one that I have been quietly working on and I
hope it’s the boat that makes a diference.” See a video
