MARK WESTON, DUNHILL
Dunhill has long seemed to be one of those chrysalis
menswear brands – just waiting to spread its wings
and burst forth in all its glory. Today, with new creative
director Mark Weston (who was previously at Burberry)
at the controls, it looks like it is finally ready for take-off.
Insisting that Dunhill is all about style rather than fashion,
Weston has turned it into an offer that can provide a
modern man with a 360-degree wardrobe, from luxury
suiting and booting to pin-sharp blousons and sneakers.
GRACE WALES BONNER
Grace Wales Bonner is the epitome of modern London and its position
as a fulcrum of fashion: mixed race (her mother is white, her father
is of Jamaican descent), urbane and the perfect balance of style
and substance. Like so many things about the capital, she was first
fully appreciated by foreign fans, when in 2016 she was awarded the
prestigious £300,000 LVMH Prize for young designers, judged by the
likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Nicolas Ghesquière. Her style is a take on
African dandies and their diaspora, finding inspiration in such diverse
elements as Ethiopia’s Emperor Haile Selassie and author James
Baldwin: the result is elegant, sharply tailored yet relaxed. Thanks to
her use of materials and styles once considered more suitable for
women’s fashion, Wales Bonner is pushing menswear into new areas.

Bentley has tasked
designer (and devoted

Starck with creating
a dock for charging
its Bentayga Hybrid
car. The result is an
elegant dock with a

linen, bio-sourced
resin and aluminium.
Designed for at-home
installation, the

Dock can be used in

still at concept stage,
the dock is expected

when the first Bentayga
Hybrids are delivered.
