bowrail. Overall, the entire
external motion feels solid,
welcoming and very easy
to live with and features
an attractive burgundy
hull with white decks, plus
she’s very easy to drive
with assistance from the
bowthruster.

DIESEL POWER
The featured package is
fitted with the ever reliable
320hp Mercury/Cummins
4.2 QSD, inline six-cylinder
common rail turbo-diesel,
which incorporates a
seawater after-cooler.
These engines combine
smooth performance with
key diesel advantages,
such as high torque and
optimum fuel economy. It
has a very low 620 engine
hours and should have
thousands in reserve for
longevity. The engine,
drive and all pumping and

electrical items are very
easily accessed through
the floor hatch which
also gives terrific area for
service and the 390lt fuel
tank allows many nautical
miles in range particularly
as the effi cient engine uses
only 9.3lt/h fuel burn and a
top speed of a brisk 24kts.
There’s even an automatic
fire service fitted as
standard and shorepower.

FROM WHERE, TO
WHERE?
Arvor Boats has gone
from strength to strength
in Australia and are now
produced by the huge
worldwide Brunswick
Corporation. They are built
in Europe and distributed in
Australia through Collins
Marine and many models
are now available with both
outboard and shaftdrive
alternatives.

This beautiful Arvor
280AS is a seagoing
vessel that will challenge
the bluewater swell on an
off shore escapade, and
then retire to the sweet-
water comfort of a secluded
hideaway. I consider the
price very attractive,
particularly considering
the overall condition, low
engine hours and amount of
functional accessories and
trim.
This very complete
package would have been
worth in excess of $220K
when first built in 2009 and
an estimated replacement
price for a new comparative
model would certainly be
more.
Premium quality and
low-volume products such
as the Arvor 280AS will
always provide excellent
residual value with
second-hand packages

still gaining similar prices
to their original purchase
price. Should you wish to
retain the mooring for this
immaculate and well-
serviced Arvor package
there is still four years left
on the Blairgowrie Marina
berth that is for sale.
