No one can accuse Westport of rushing into anything. The careful move
to bigger yachts was something the builder’s clients had been awaiting
for some time and now the time has arrived. The newly unveiled
flagship by Gregory C Marshall Naval Architect is a high tonnage 213ft
full displacement yacht with a steel hull. Westport Yachts’ sales director
Alex Rogers calls the project “a beast,” in terms of size and amenities.
Helicopter capable, the flagship will have a big beach club, a forward
toy and tender garage and a custom designed interior. It will be built
at Westport’s parent company Edison Chouest Offshore’s Mississippi
facility in a shed capable of handling two of these side by side.
Also fully engineered and ready to build in composite is the 147ft
Westport 45, which carries forth some of the features clients have
appreciated on the Westport 125, including the beach club and a
spacious lounge forward.
Finally, the builder unveiled its new-look Westport 112. “Nothing has
changed as far as the layout, it’s all styling,” Rogers says. A Seakeeper 35
and Naiad fins were added for comfort. westportyachts.com
