Publisher’s Note
For the first time, in our short history of two
years but long history of words, Arts Illustrated
joins hands with India’s biggest platform for
contemporary arts – India Art Fair 2016. Now
in its eighth edition, IAF promises its thousands
of visitors a fresh perspective to contemporary
arts in India and the world, and its many
exhibitors the opportunity to be part of a pivotal
moment that will redefine the contemporary arts
landscape.
We, at Arts Illustrated, couldn’t have chosen a
better time.
Our February–March 2016 issue focuses
exclusively on artists and art projects that are part
of IAF, giving it an exciting spin through our
unique brand of content. Through our regular
sections, we try to highlight the symbiotic
relationship between the artist and the fair,
while our new stand-alone IAF-dedicated
features deconstruct the essence of such a vibrant
platform, both within the art community and a
city that quietly holds it together.
AI is delighted to be a part of this journey with
IAF, and we hope this will only strengthen the
spirit of inclusivity in this incredibly exciting
world of contemporary arts.
