umbhmela is like a rainbow,
with so many people from
various parts of India gathering
there. The event, which has many
colourful shades to it, is a bliss for
photographers. There are various other
beautiful sides to Kumbhmela, but they
are quite often hidden or untold.I was bored of all those clichéd sadhu
baba photos of Nashik Kumbhmela. I
needed something different. I wanted
to see and shoot photos beyond sadhu
babas and their poses.I was there for just two days. I tried
to stay away from the routine that
almost everyone follows. I tried to
photograph something, which would
be totally different from what other
photographers do. This approach led
me to shoot from a different perspective,
and this album is my attempt to bring
out those moments, stories and smiles
which go unnoticed by most of us.Shahi SnanCamera: Canon EOS 5D Mark III; Lens: EF 24-70mm f/4 IS USM
