age really appeal to me. I find the
nooks and crannies of a ‘lived in’
face more of a challenge than the
smoothness of younger complexions.
I’ve had some hilarious mishaps
whilst in the process of producing
my art. Once I was nicely set up in
the middle of a paddock, and then
the cattle started circling around me
getting closer and closer – so I made
a mad dash for the gate and lost
half a box of pastels in the process.
Another time I was engrossed in
painting beside a creek. I suddenly
felt hot breath on the back of my
neck and turned around to be
confronted by a very amorous
donkey! That cost me another half
a box of pastels ... I was so startled
that I leapt up, causing my pastels
to tip over; and I watched them roll
down the bank and into the creek.
On another occasion I tripped on
the top step of my studio as I exited
the doorway. I did a somersault,
and knocked myself out! When I
came to, a tribe of meat ants were
trying to drag me off to their nest.
