Hydrangeas: a step-by-step guide

Use a number 6 sable
brush to pull out the
petals from the mass
I begin drawing with a number 2 white bristle filbert brush
loaded with Ultramarine Blue, thinned with medium.
He r e I begin building the lights on the blue hydrangeas as
they relate to the white one, which is the focal point.
I add the darker values to the blue hydrangeas with
Ultramarine Blue and grey, building the spherical shapes.
Ne xt I block in my background with a bristle flat brush. I
use Phthalo Green and Ivory Black for the darker areas.
