most important factors are “location, location

and location”. London, notoriousfor its astro-

nomically high property prices, can add “prox-

don, this can raise the price of a house by near-

ly £230,000 (€248,000).

Being close to the Tube is even important to

the oligarchs in affluentdistricts, says Trevor

Abrahmsohn of Glentree International, an estate

agency. “Being close to the Tube means their

army of domestic staffcan walk and take pub-

lic transport, so the chauffeur doesn’t need to

drop them off,” Abrahmsohn told the Financial

Times. His firm sells properties on The Bishops

Avenue in Hampstead: “It’s a very desirable and

prestigiousroad, but the truth is, if you want to

go from Hampstead to the Cityor Canary Wharf,

the most efficient method is by Tube,” he says.
