BUILT IT HERSELF
The edge is our brand new 10 000sqm commercial building located in Tyger Waterfront and houses our head
office on the penthouse floor. We designed this building with the intention for it to be a manifestation of our
approach to aesthetics and environmentally sustainable developments. We are targeting a 5 star rating from the
Green Building Council of South Africa which will officially make The edge one of South Africa’s greenest buildings.
Energy efficient features include a custom-designed HVAC system (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning),
rainwater harvesting for grey water use, a lighting system based on daylight and occupancy levels, and energy
saving lifts. Additionally, the materials used to construct The Edge include concrete containing pulverised fly ash
which reduces its embodied energy, as well as sustainable timber that is either FSC certified, re-used or re-cycled.
