If you still like the motif, make up a quilt
sandwich. I prefer a quilt top of a solid-
colored fabric, a low-loft batting, and a
solid-colored backing. With solid-colored
fabrics on the top and back, you’ll be able
to see your stitches and your motif more
clearly. Measure and mark out a grid of 3"–4"
squares, then practice stitching your motif to
completely fi ll the square.
