lass activity with new

designs, new boats in build,

and a healthy used boat

market are all positive signs

that indicate a flourishing

market of 30ft plus raceboats. Regatta

entries are naturally a good way of

gauging the market; in particular, the

internationally popular biennial Rolex

Fastnet Race saw a total of 362 boats

enter, an increase on the previous

event, with the IRC fleet reaching its

entry limit of 340 boats within just

four minutes and 24 seconds of entry

opening. It’s fair to say activity in this

sector looks to be as buoyant as it has

ever been and spans both professional

and amateur crewed classes.
