Finalmouseonlyproducedproductsinlimited

runsthatwouldsometimesselloutinmere

hours.TheUltralight2 wasthelastproductit

released(backinAugust),withthegroupnow

pledgingtomoveontodesigningfootwear.

TheUltralight2 weighsinatjust47g.It’s

fartoosmallforanyonewithmediumto

largehands,butthelargerUltralightversions

willsuitlargerhands.Theoverallshape

suitsmostgripstyles,andyoualsogeta

lightweightcable– anotherkeyinnovation

pushedbyFinalmouse.

Themouseis heavilyperforatedallround,

andevenincludesperforationsonthesides

whereyougripit, whichisn’tthemost

comfortabletohold.It’salsofinishedintheraw

plasticfromwhichthemouseis made,givingit

anintriguingbeigeandorangecolourscheme

(oneforNoctuafanaticsperhaps?)It includes

stick-onwhitefoampadsthatcanbulkoutthe

backandsidesofthemouse.It’sa clunky

system,though,andonethatdidn’tconvince

us,eitherintermsofcomfortorlongevity.

Elsewhere,it hasthesamebuttonlayoutas

theModelO(seep58)andusestheexcellent

Pixart 3389 sensor– combineit withthe

incrediblylowweightandyougeta great

gamingexperience.Alltold,despitea few

designoddities,thisis a greatmouse,butwith

thegoingrateof~£150incVAToneBay(the

largerUltralightvariationsregularlygoforeven

more),wecan’trecommendbuyingone.It

reallyis a shameFinalmousedecidetostop

makingthem.Here’shopingthecompanyhas

a changeofheart.

The sophisticated design of the Pure Base 500

means you can hide nearly all your cables, and

highlight up to two SSDs, helping you to create

neat system builds with great illumination. The

case comes in a choice of three base colours:

black, metallic grey and white, and the winner
