consider the relatively little-known Catalina
features filmed on video by MacRumors –
including new sharing features in the Notes
app. Meanwhile, if you want to write a digital
signature but lack a trackpad, Catalina lets
you use a connected iPhone or iPad instead

  • just write with your finger or if your iPad is
    compatible, the Apple Pencil.

The Mail app, meanwhile, will indicate when a
particular message comes from a mailing list

  • and better still, give you an easily accessible
“Unsubscribe” link so that you can do exactly
that. It’s a popular feature brought over from
iOS, while even tinkering with your Apple
ID profile is easier with Catalina. Your profile
features prominently in the System Preferences
app, which is useful for checking you are signed
in and looking over current subscriptions and
    past purchases.

A PROMISING FUTURE FOR THE MAC

As we acknowledged earlier, the Mac is
transitioning, but we like what we see just
around the corner – and apparently, so do Mac
users. Earlier this month, analytics firm Canalys
reported that while the whole PC market saw
a rise in shipments during 2019’s third quarter,
Mac shipments also grew year-on-year, steadily
maintaining Apple’s market share of about 8%
worldwide. [https://9to5mac.com/2019/10/10/

When all of these factors are considered
alongside the new Mac models on the horizon, it
seems that we can quite confidently declare the
future to be bright – and somewhat less isolating

  • for this trusted and venerable platform.
