Billfish Babes is a one-day, ladies-only gamefishing shootout
which also includes a fancy-dress boat parade and an
exhilarating shotgun start. It encourages all females, both
seniors and juniors, to participate and try their hand at this
amazing sport.
Hosted by the Mooloolaba Game Fishing Club, the fifth annual
Billfish Babes tournament was held in early February. The second-

win with a tagged black marlin later that morning.

Water Classic was held in early January, with
weather conditions threatening to challenge the

on the inshore grounds.

remainder of the first day was slow, with only one or
two fish reported in the subsequent skeds.
