which is included with all messages. Messages received from-shore
without a billing code are rejected and are not forwarded to the vessel

Globe E-Mail - The Globe Wireless Marine SSB Radio
Electronic Mail Service
Telex Over Radio services are basic messaging services. TOR
services can only send and receive text messages, with limited 'character
sets' (meaning that messages are limited to single-case characters,
alphabetic and numerical, and limited punctuation). You cannot 'attach'
files; nor send diagrams; nor spreadsheets etc.
Electronic Mail (e-mail) services have a much more versatile
'character set' (i.e., you can use upper and lower case characters, and the
full range of punctuation) and allow you to 'attach' files from normal
computing packages, including word-processing, spreadsheet and
database packages.
Using GlobeEmail requires that you install the Globe Wireless
software onto the computer attached to the Marine SSB Radio, and use
a special modem (not a standard TOR modem). GlobeEmail software
operates in the 'Windows' environment of your computer.
The main difference between TOR systems and GlobeEmail is
that the selection of radio station and frequency is almost completely
automatic, as described below.
