Up Your Score SAT, 2018-2019 Edition The Underground Guide to Outsmarting The Test

(Tuis.) #1

What used to be called “The Verbal Section” has gotten a grander—and more
terrifying—new name: The Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Test. It is
considered bad luck to say this full name in public. You may whisper it, or use
its acronym: the EBRAW T. This might be a scary section, but there is no
denying that it is fun to say the word EBRAWT.
Like death by lethal injection, the EBRAWT has two—or you can opt for
three—phases. The first (designed to put the inmate to sleep) is the Reading Test.
The second (designed to stop the inmate’s breathing) is the Writing and
Language Test. The third part is an optional Essay Test (designed to stop the
heart from beating should phase two fail).
