Welcome to our May issue. Inside, we’ve got all
things yoga waiting for you. Lots of practical
yoga instruction, of course, delivered by some
pretty awesome teachers, but there’s also plenty
of other goodies too: healthy recipe ideas to get
you eating right, stories of yoga fans out there
doing amazing things in the world, plus lots of
other tips and advice to keep your practice fresh
and alive. If it’s inspiration and motivation you’re after, then read on.
Our special report this month showcases yoga for children and teens. We
all know that yoga is good for everyone, whatever your age or size, so there’s
no better time to start out than when you’re young. With so many pressures
on our kids these days, from school hours to homework, and from social
media to cell phones, they certainly need it now more than ever.
Stress and anxiety are commonplace among our younger set, with the
demands of our fast-paced society and world of gadgets. But yoga works
just as well for children as it does for adults, reaching every level – body,
mind and spirit. It’s a gift we need to give to our little people, this planet’s
future leaders, if they are to thrive and bloom into fully functioning, happy
and grounded adults. Read all about it on pages 52-67.
Also in this issue we’ve got a snapshot of all the big yoga festivals in
the UK and overseas. Very tempting with summer now just around the
corner. It’s a great way to soak up the yoga vibe and experience lots of
fabulous teachers all in one location, whether that’s a big international
multi-day event, or a smaller gathering close to home.
Oh, and don’t forget there’s our own OM International Yoga Day
celebration taking place next month (June 21) at London’s Alexandra
Palace (on page 123). And this month, we’ll also be at the OM Yoga Show
in Manchester, so be sure to drop by our stand and say hello if you’re
there (page 39). We’d love to meet you.
Before then, we’ve got lots of yoga inside for you to enjoy and keep
you entertained. If you’d rather take it easy, or you’re new to this
wonderful world of yoga, then just start right here. Put the kettle on, make
some (ethically sourced) tea infused with love, snuggle up, and spend
some time with OM. It’s going to be a brilliant month. Hope to see you in
Manchester or London.
