A healing heart
I am always delighted when my
Yoga Journal arrives in the mail.
Somehow there always seems
to be an article in each issue that
was written just for me. This
time it was“Live, Love, Learn”
(Feb/March 2015). A few months
ago my baby boy Alex was born
prematurely and died an hour
after his birth. It has been a very
sad time for our family, and as
my son’s due date approached I
found myself quite lost in my
grief. That’s when I tried
practising the Healing Heart
sequence and found it to be
exactly what I needed on those
particularly bad days. Thank you!
ALISON SMITH O’CONNELL
Ed’s reply: We’re so sorry to hear
your terrible news, Alison. We
send our love to you and hope you
keep on practising – and healing.

The eyes have it
I opened my new issue of
Yoga Journal this morning and
I agree that I too have trouble
reading those wonderful
articles due to font size.
So please do give this some
thought. My email to you is in
size 11 font, I believe that Yoga
Journal is closer to a 10? Surely
the magazine should be printed
in the same size font as is
commonly used in written
business communications.
This is my only complaint –
I’ve been a subscriber for a
couple of years and really enjoy
the articles, but wouldn’t mind
a few more “healthy”recipes
if I could be really picky.
SHARYNE MULLENS
Ed’s reply: Thanks for your feedback,
Sharyne. We’ll attempt to make
future issues easier on the eyes!

Mistaken identity
Thank you very much for
a wonderful article that
communicates the benefit
of yoga and PTSD (“Healing
Minds”, April 2015). On page
51 there is a photo in the top right had corner of a man who is not
me. The photo on page 52 shows me in the foreground, leading
two wounded warriors through a sequence.
ROB GINNIVAN
Ed’s reply: Rob, we are so sorry for the mix up! The photo was actually
of David Emerson, who also features in the article. We’ve included
your photo here. Sorry again, and keep up the great work!

Let’s go outside
I’m from Finland and moved to small
beachside neighbourhood outside Perth.
I always dreamt of living the life barefoot
and on the beach, to soothe that inner
hippie child. And thanks to beautiful
Australian weather and beaches, I haven’t
worn shoes for a while. As a “newbie” in
Australia, through yoga I have made some
beautiful friends and helped them to see
the beauty of taking the mat outside and
being connected to Mother Earth.
DIANA MADISSON ELLIOT
Ed’s reply: Thanks for sharing, Diana.
You’ve got to love Australian weather!
