DAY CHRISTENSEN
Tantric sensuality
At the core of tantra is the willingness to slow everything down so
there is no rush to finish something. Even taking each other’s clothes
off can take 15 minutes or more. This disrobing can be incredibly
sexy if you dare to go there. Touch, even a soft caressing of the
cheek, and you are kept exquisitely engaged constantly. As the
focus has changed from getting to orgasm to being creative with the
way there, there’s something that happens that’s like a huge sigh
of relief from both of you. Within that relief is the gentle gold. The
extraordinary grace and care. The tone of this activity is service to
the other, that way there is an extra layer of gratitude. You get to
feel adored in your glorious nakedness. You get to feel like the god
or goddess that you always yearned to be.
And if feelings of vulnerability come up at any time, then express
them. It adds to the intimacy. You might suddenly feel shy and tell
your partner. Your partner may be delighted to see this side of you,
and adore you even more. This leads to a richness of connection.
When it comes to the sexuality part, you might want to give each
other an erotic massage. That way, each of you gets to feel that
focused devotion, which is mightily powerful and fabulous. Or you
may want to simply stroke each in a tender way.
You may want to simply lie together, or to move together very
slowly. Whatever you do, do it with the spirit of exploration rather an
achievement. And it will be utterly gorgeous.
Invent devotional rituals
Creating rituals enhances your making love life tenfold. Ritual allows
you to be transported into another way of being together, something
that is more profound and non-material. We can enter the mystery
and the liminal space here. We can connect to the sacred part of
ourselves and the other. We can become that Shakti and Shiva in all
our essences. You might create a mandala of fruits, put flower petals
on the love bed, anoint each other with oils, honour each other
with a namaste bow at the beginning and end. You might do a foot
washing ritual for each other. You might want to read each other
Rumi poems. Whatever you do in this zone, slow down, breathe and
do everything with a godly grace.

5 TIPS ON BEING TANTRIC
1) Be perpetually curious.
2) Nurture presence in everything you do – as a way of
living in love with life.
3) Be open, honest and aware with yourself and your
partner.
4) Practice calming and regulating yourself so that you
don’t get triggered into old, self-sabotaging patterns.
5) Develop practices that work for you personally to get
in touch with yourself on a daily basis.
“PLAY WITH YOUR SEXINESS,
TAKE IT OUT FOR A WALK.
ALLOW IT TO BE SEEN BY
OTHERS. IT TAKES COURAGE
BUT ONCE YOU’VE STARTED,
THERE’LL BE NO STOPPING YOU”
