my glory and the one who lifts my head.
I call out loud to the LORD
and he answers me from his holy mountain......
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
I will not be afraid of the great crowd around me,
who set up against me.Rise up, LORD. Rescue me, my God!
Because you will knock out all my opponents;
you will break the teeth of wicked people.
Salvation belongs to the LORD;
may your blessing be on your people.Psalm 4
When I call, answer me, my God who acts fairly;
when hemmed in you made space for me.
Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
How long will people shame my honour?
You love worthlessness; you seek for idols......
Know that the LORD has singled out his loyal follower;
the LORD hears when I call to him.
Be troubled – and do not sin;
talk to yourself on your bed and be silent......
Offer sacrifices in the right way and trust in the LORD.Many people say, ‘Who will show us any good?’
Turn your face to us in pleasure, LORD.
You have put joy into my heart –
more than people who have food and plenty of new wine.
I lie down and go to sleep at peace,
because only you, LORD, make me live securely.
