strength to the tempted. Be gracious to my friends...... to all who are
endeared to me by their kindness and acquaintance, to all who remember
me in their prayers, or wish to be remembered in mine...... Amen.^273

I pray for the church and mission of Christ in all places......
Lord, Jesus, let all who turn in their hearts to seek your face be
renewed in the Spirit of adoption. May they cry out ‘Abba, Father!’ and
believing fully in your name live as children of God. Let them know and
feel there is redemption in your blood – the forgiveness of sins. Let them
be born again into a living hope and be pure as you are pure. Adopted
as your children, let the Spirit of love and glory rest on them, cleansing
them and teaching them perfect holiness in the fear of God. Amen.^274

I pray for all in authority and for the needs of the world......
Dear Lord, have mercy on all who struggle with pain, poverty
or violence. Be a guide to refugees; give a strong and quiet spirit to
those condemned to death; give liberty to prisoners and captives and
ease and cheerfulness to every sad heart; give spiritual strength and
comfort to scrupulous consciences and to any afflicted by evil spirits.
Take pity on those with mental illness. Give life and salvation to all
whose minds have no understanding. Amen.^275

Our Father......

Conclusion

Sovereign of heaven, pour your grace into my heart, that I may
worthily magnify your glorious name. You have made me and sent
me into the world to do your work. Help me fulfil the purpose of
my creation and live for your praise, by giving myself up to your
service. Prosper whatever I undertake this day, that it may further
your glory, the good of my neighbour and the salvation of my own
soul. Amen.^276
