Liam and Miley had drastically different ideas
about what married life would look like. For Liam,
it meant settling down and starting a family. And
while Miley had promised they could try for a baby
when they became husband and wife, she had a
change of heart after they wed. “Liam was devas-
tated,” says the insider. “He accused her of being a
liar.” The “Wrecking Ball” singer then rubbed salt
in the wound by telling Elle magazine she didn’t
want children. “Instead of keeping such a sensitive
topic between the two of them, she told the world,”
the source notes. “Liam didn’t want her discuss-
ing their private life with the media, but she just
couldn’t help herself.”
Miley prioritized her career over her marriage,
another tipster observes. “She made a comment
about how Liam probably wants her to get fat and
stay home and not work.” Known for her edgy out-
fits and envelope-pushing antics (who could forget
her twerking at the 2013 VMAs!), Miley reportedly
worried that her marriage to Liam was ruining her
image. “She thought Liam was making her boring,”
says the insider. “She was more concerned about
her career than about Liam.”
And she wasn’t willing to compromise. “Miley
has this unapologetic attitude – she wants to live
her life on her terms,” says another insider. And the
former child star is used to getting what she wants.
“She’s spoiled from being famous her entire life,”
says the source. Liam hated her attention-seeking
tricks — especially her half-naked Instagram posts.
“Plus,” says another source, “when they went out,
Miley would ignore Liam and flirt nonstop with both
men and women, leaving him red-faced with anger.”SECRETS AND LIES
Friends of Liam say

Trust was a major issue
for the actor. “It’s no
secret Miley’s hooked
up with many men and
women in the past,”
says the source. When
Liam was out of town
shooting, he worried
constantly about what
Miley was up to. “His
thoughts would spiral about whether she was up
to her old tricks,” says the insider. “He was con-
vinced she was stepping out on him.” The same
day they announced their split, photos surfaced
of Miley kissing Brody Jenner’s e x , Kaitlynn
Carter, while on vacation in Italy. (See box, op-

Miley’s partying ways were also a huge source
of contention. Since the breakup, both sides have
accused the other of overdoing it with drugs and
alcohol. “Liam and his guy friends in Malibu go
surfing during the day and have house parties
every night where they do tons of drugs,” says
one insider. Adds another: “Liam will enjoy a few
beers, and there have definitely been times he’s
drunk to numb the pain of his failing relationship.Public
