CROCHET IN THE ROUND


After the first round of double crochet stitches, your chain loop ring
should look like this (see right). You can see that this method leaves
a smaller hole at the centre than the basic foundation ring method
(see far right). To work the next round(s), work in the same way as
you would with the next rounds for the basic foundation ring: make
the turning chain, then work the stitches into the tops of the stitches
on the first round. At the end of each round, slip stitch the last stitch
to the first stitch.

Make a slipknot and place it on your hook.
Make one chain and tighten the slipknot.
This first chain will be your foundation ring.

although only 4-6 stitches will fit. Work a
slip stitch to join the first and last double crochet
stitches and finish the first round.
