Step Six: Duplicate the layer
again, change the color to mint
green (#44d09d), and leave
the blending mode set to Color
and the Opacity at 5%.
Step Seven: Duplicate the
layer one last time, change the
color to grayish blue (#6e8598),
and leave the blending mode
set to Color and the Opacity
at 5%.
Step Eight: With the top fill
layer active, Shift-click on the
original fill layer to select all
the Skin Reflection layers, and
press Command-G (PC: Ctrl-
G) to group them. Rename
the group (“Skin Reflec-
tion” in this example) and
then make sure it’s inside the
group that you used to color-
ize the skin of the main subject
(“Skin” here). For this image,
we reduced the group Opac-
ity to 75%; otherwise, it won’t
appear as a realistic reflection.
HAIR REFLECTIONS ON
THE GRAND PIANO LID
We’re going to use three Solid
Color fill layers to colorize the
reflection of the hair on the
piano lid.
Step One: Add your first Solid
Color fill layer, set it to a light
yellow (#e5daba), and rename
it “Hair Reflection Piano.” Invert
the mask to black and then
paint in white where the hair
is reflected on the lid. Change
the blending mode from Nor-
mal to Color and reduce the
Opacity to 65%.
